My name is Tony Bedora and I was born and raised in Kansas City and love everything about living here. While I have lived and worked in other US cities through the years, there is no better place than KC. I’m also a sports fan and proudly support the Chiefs, Royals, and Sporting KC. Being a dad to two wonderful kids is one of the greatest joys of my life. With them I get to learn the ways of TikTok and am always kept up to date on all the sports stats I never knew I needed to know. My everyday joys come from cooking, listening to music, watching movies, and you can catch me wandering a local park taking in the beauty of nature. Most of all, I love spending time with people. It’s why I chose this profession. I believe everybody has an interesting story to share and I hope to hear yours!
When you are in the room with me, I hope you experience a space that is warm, welcoming, and nonjudgmental. It is my hope that we can build a trusting and transformative relationship in order to help you work through whatever you bring into the room. I hope that you feel understood and that you experience me as empathetic and understanding. Within that relationship it is my goal that you will find yourself with a strengthened personal identity, develop more secure relationships, and find that you have greater satisfaction with your overall emotional and mental health.
I received my Masters of Arts in Counseling in May of 2020 from MidAmerica Nazarene University, am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Kansas, and a Nationally Certified Counselor. My psychotherapy experience includes working with adults who have traumatic life experiences and emotional struggles, couples navigating through better communication, intimacy, and infidelity. I have worked with people who have had negative religious experiences and/or are dealing with an evolving view of their faith. I also have worked with LGBTQIA+ persons. The work that I have done with clients has shown me that with a good counseling relationship they can enjoy hope, healing, and vitality.
